Summary

After looking at the qeuries on Google Trends, one can infer that the correlation between each factor of climate change and the overall effects have increased and decreased in popularity over the years. The sharp spikes in searches of each term are due to a specific event or news that leads to interest in the topic. For example, the firestorm in California that occured around September of 2017 led to the sharp increase in searches for "natural disasters" and "global warming". Researchers and the public audience alike can take data from Google Trends and extrapolate it in order to trace back in history to a specific occurance that could be significant to a study. My data showed me that the search frequecy among climate change and related topics has a very sinusoidal pattern. Throughout time, the frequency will increase for a period, and then decrease. The increases can be explained by an event at the time that led to increased interest in the topic, or by general increase in awareness about climate change.
